What transport solutions does LOGITRANS provide for AQUATHANE B.V.?

 

Logitrans organized the logistics for a complex intra-community multimodal transport project aimed at optimizing the production process of a major dairy brand. The transports within this project took place between October and December 2022, covering the movement of tanks, materials, parts, and equipment required for the construction of an anaerobic wastewater treatment plant. These transports were organized from Germany, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and Sweden to Nicosia (Cyprus). As this is a large-scale project, the transports are still ongoing.

Multimodal oversized transport and crane transshipment

 

Logitrans experts planned and organized the route for the oversized transport of two pieces of equipment measuring 3.75 m in height and 3.22 m in width, loaded in the Netherlands, as well as a 20-meter tank loaded in Bulgaria. All units were unloaded in the Port of Thessaloniki (Greece) and transshipped by crane onto a trailer that transported them to Limassol Port (Cyprus), from where the cargo was delivered to the beneficiary in Nicosia (Cyprus).

The 20-meter tank transport was escorted throughout its transit in Greece, while the two oversized pieces of equipment were escorted for the entire duration of their journey.

Multimodal Transport and Warehousing Services

The Logitrans team planned and organized the route for two additional transports: one from the Netherlands and one from Germany to Bucharest, where the goods were stored. Using forklifts, the cargo was transshipped onto other trucks and delivered to Thessaloniki (Greece), where the second warehousing stage took place. Afterwards, the goods were loaded into containers, which were then placed on a ferry headed to Limassol Port (Cyprus).

The final stage of these transports involved loading the containers onto a transcontainer for delivery to their final destination, Nicosia (Cyprus).

Integrated Logistics Solutions

At the request of our business partner, Logitrans handled the customs documentation required for transiting the waters of a non-EU country (Turkish territorial waters) and provided consultancy for all customs procedures.

This transport project required warehousing and cargo handling services, including transshipment by forklift and by crane — operations carried out under maximum safety conditions and with strict consideration for the fragile nature of the goods.

Real-time communication, rigorous and meticulous route planning, strict adherence to communicated timelines, close monitoring of all transports, and the expertise of the Logitrans team — all these factors contributed to the successful completion of the project.
